We offer instruction through a blend of online and in-person formats. While seminar and wonder sessions require in-person attendance, core learning and IDEs provide students the flexibility to learn wherever they choose, e.g., at TLL’s campus, a local coffee shop, home. Nevertheless, we aspire to create a welcoming physical environment where students want to gather, enjoying not only the resources but also the opportunity to connect and collaborate with friends.

ASU Preparatory Academy runs multiple charter schools in the state of Arizona. Hoping to develop a new flagship school on the main ASU campus, ASU Prep approached The Levitt Lab for help in developing a reimagined high school experience. This partnership will produce its first school in Tempe in 2025, with other ASU locations planned to follow.

Unlike a traditional teacher who primarily focuses on delivering subject-specific instruction, a guide at TLL serves as a mentor. Guides work one-on-one with students to set academic and personal goals, develop tailored strategies for growth, and explore new interests. Their role is holistic, emphasizing guidance, inspiration, and individualized support rather than standard classroom teaching.
At TLL, our interdisciplinary, curiosity-driven approach to learning reflects the expansive nature of a college education, equipping students with the skills needed to thrive in higher education. Our unique design fosters independence, allowing students to manage their own schedules and learning, much like in college. TLL also offers a unique view into college life, as our school is located on the ASU campus and offers the opportunity for our high school students to take courses at ASU.
Any student is eligible to apply to our ASU Tempe location if they meet both of the following criteria, 1) they are an incoming 9th-12th grader, 2) they are on track to graduate.
There are no district restrictions or residency requirements.
Yes! TLL is free for all eligible students.
In-person wonder sessions and seminars are scheduled with a few flexible time slots each week, while core courses and IDEs provide complete flexibility, allowing you to learn at your own pace and schedule them as you see fit. Additionally, with IDEs and online learning, you have the freedom to choose what you’re learning by selecting topics or courses that align with your interests and goals. This personalized approach ensures your schedule works for you.
Students who thrive at TLL are curious, self-motivated, and self-disciplined. Here, school isn’t something done to you—you’ll make meaningful decisions about your learning journey, from customizing your schedule to exploring your passions. If you’re eager to embrace independence and shape your own path, TLL is the perfect fit.
